Should you continue doing good even when you are not getting credit for it?

when no one even knows you are doing it ? Should you let others be, even when they are being jerks, condescending ? Should you be happy in just knowing things and not telling others (showing off) that you know it ? Is it okay not to be showered with praises ? Is it wrong/immature to want to be praised and appreciated ? Should you continue looking for the best in everyone even when they don't see it in you ? Should you look for the good things in life even when the bad is overwhelming ?
