How did Rascal Flatts get their name?

Joe Don, Jay, and Gary got a record deal with Lyric Street Records and were still unnamed. They were gonna go ahead with the name Oklahio, but a friend of theirs had a better idea. He had a garage band in the '60s called Rascal Flatts, and that's how Rascal Flatts got their name.
