1978 GMC defroster problem?

I have a 1978 GMC 1/2 ton pickup. There is something wrong with the defroster. When I turn on the defrost it just barely blows. When I change to the floor, it blows like crazy, and when I put it on the vent it blows hard there too. I can hear the blower going full blast when it goes to defrost, but not much air coming out there. A little air comes out the floor and the vent then too. I have dropped the glovebox down to watch the levers work, they do. I have unhooked the lever and did it by hand and still very little going to defrost. Any ideas??

ok, i waxed my upper lip wih facial hair removal strips and i ended up doing the same spot too much. i didn't think it was a big deal, because it didn't really hurt that much, but after i was done the whole area was really read but i thought that was gonna go away soon i didn't rally worry. then when i woke up in the morning, the redness was still there, so i tried to calm it down before i went to school, with ice. i couldn't carry the ice pack with me so i just went to school, and towards the end of school, i started feeling it getting tighter, and when i came home, i looked in the mirror and saw a horrifying, dangerous fleash eating desease looking thing on my lip and now i have brown dried cracky tight feeling stinging on my lip. it's kind of similar to when someone has a cold and they blow they're nose too much, and it gets dry, cracky and it hurts to smile. thats what i have on my upper lip. did anyone one make this stupid mistake before or am i the only one nd what should i do?

Can I tile over linoleum glue on concrete?

I pulled all the linoleum up in my basement but the glue is still adhered to the concrete. There are a few places where I was able to sc up a small area, but the majority of it is heavily stuck to the concrete. I was thinking of tiling over the glue, has anyone had any experience with this? Is there some sort of solution made that I can cover the glue in to have it come up easier? My other option would be to go overtop of the concrete with durock cement board. If I did this, what would I use to attach it to my cement slab? I haven't had much experience with cement aside from using tap cons. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Name/guess this diagnosis (Rt lower abd pain and lowgrade temp)?

Right lower belly pain from below the navel down toward pelvic bone for past two weeks. 48 hours ago pain got worse and then during the night it got worse and remained constant with episodes of sharp pain coming and going. I saw dr. to rule out ovarian cysts and he said while he didn't feel one he thought appendix and said not to eat anything else and if I was drinking make sure it was a clear liquid and had me go for a CT scan with and without contrast. Got CT scan 2 hrs. after drinking contrast. I've also had nausea past two days and lost five pounds in the last week and have loss of appetite. Was told by staff to go home for results and it wasn't appendicitis. Dr. called back saying there is a cyst on the left ovary but nothing was found on the right. He thought it could be bowel spasms and told me to follow up with gastroenterologist. I've been hot and cold the last few days but no fever. Just got temp taken today and was 99.8. . No flu like symptoms no cough, nothing like a cold or respiratory infection coming on. What could this diagnosis be and what could be causing the fever. Also I finished Cipro a week ago and symptoms seemed to start after starting the Cipro.

BEEN SICK FOR OVER 1 WEEK WHAT SHOULD I TAKE?

I've been taking plenty Vitamin C; Garlic; and Acidophilous. Been drinking warm tea with lemon and honey; plenty of water; Robitussin DM; Alka seltzer plus; and sinus medicine at night, nothing I know to do seems to be helping. My head is stuffed up; my throat is soar; and all my lymph nodes in my neck are swollen and tender as hell. Today my chest is feeling tight. I'm getting worse, not better.WHAT ELSE CAN I DO??? I have a dilemma on my hands. In February of last year, my world changed, my 55 year old father died suddenly of a severe stroke at work. During that time my fiancee's family played host for a week to my mom, stepdad, and sisters ( who had moved down to Florida in 2002, while I chose to stay up in NY and finish college and live on my own ) During that week, stress was at an all time high. My fiancee and I live in NYC, and are very close with her family because they live so close. My family lives in Florida and is up in NY for 4 days, at most, once a year. Because of the stress of losing my dad suddenly, trying to arrange funeral plans, and try to console my teenage sisters, I felt like I was on a roller coaster. My mom, whom I love more than anything,is a "bleeding heart", she will tell her life story to anyone that will listen, including divulging private family information that really should not be told to people they have only met 2 or 3 times. My mother, unbeknownst to me, spoke a lot about my family problems, her divorce with my father, and her financial and credit problems in the past. My fiancee's family is to stereotypical "All-American" Ozzie and Harriet family. Everyone gets along, and both parents have fantastic relationships with each other and the kids. Suffice to say.....after that week, my fiancee and her mom withdrew from talking to my mother on Facebook and stopped asking about my family from time to time ( before my dad died, it seemed like my mother, my fiancee and her mom, were really hitting it off) Last week , my mother came up to visit, it was the first time I had seen her since the funeral. I was excited to see her,however, my girlfriend was very reluctant to go out, and socialize with my mother, but ended up still going out with me to visit my mom , but was extremely quiet at dinner. Knee pain for 5 years -- can't convince mom to take me to a doc.?

Possible disease in my calathea ornata plant?

I recently got a small calathea ornata plant that was about fourteen inches tall. I transferred it into a nice pot that should have enough room and used cactus soil, as recommended by a web site, for extra since there wasn't enough. It was flourishing the first two weeks, growing new leaves and growing taller. Now some of its leaves are turning yellow, starting with those at the bottom, and now splotching some of the larger leaves. It usually starts at the tips. I broke off the smaller leaves that this happened to at first, but now I see that it may be a bigger problem. It gets what should be the right amount of low light from my bedroom window, but I think that perhaps the air conditioner, though I keep it on only in moderation and it shouldn't be cold enough, could be doing this. Has this happened to any of your calatheas, or have you had similar problems with plants? What can I do to make my plant flourish again? Thank you in advance.

Let's stop the crap, why do people like Lady Gaga?

Unlike like other pop singers, the one thing she may have going for her is that she wrote and co-wrote all of her songs. The hard facts are, she cannot sing live other than a poor "melodic-movement" of her voice. Every time I see her live on TV...it's more like she's speaking her lyrics but trying to push it out as truly, vocally singing, and it just doesn't work. She relies on dancing during performance to amaze lame-brained fans. In the studio, everything is auto-tune. Most of the appeal of her songs are the "robotic" futuristic sound she sells. I understand auto-tune has an appeal as the effect it provides but when you strip away studio magic and her ability to write, all you have are a bunch of fans who like her based on well-produced background music she had no part in by a professional producer, horrible singing skills mulled out in the studio till it sounds good and can actually "belt out" a real note, and special effects. Do teens and college kids realize they like something that was created rather than actually liking an artist who IS creative? Society is REALLY dumbing down, commercial rap is being ruined as well. It seems like with all genre's..the more intelligent a song is written to get you to think beyond the usual, mundane, people get disgusted at it and giggle like idiots as they turn it off and pick up the over simplified spoon-fed simplistic meaningless superficial topics and lyricism that more people seem to like than not. I don't get the stupidity in people who actually think the artists they like and idolize have a hand in creating the important parts of what actually made the song they listened to. They can pick up any slob off the street and aid them with help musically from all different areas and make it look like that singer is actually creating anything amazing, when really is packaged manufactured crap. Other singers....it's even worse..most of them don't write ANYTHING, don't produce ANYTHING, can't really sing even a tiny bit acceptable LIVE so it's not even like they can pick up the lack of writing talent with a voice they can actually sing with and even those that can...can't control the fact that they can just naturally sing and still aren't talented enough to do anything but sing what writers give them. And remember not to rhyme for rhyming's sake. The slim and gym rhyme is cute, but it isn't contributing poetically. For fun, try to take out the word giraffe completely. Negative pregnancy tests but no periods for 2 months?

I've been on the combined pill for about 3 years and ever since then my periods have been regular as clockwork! But I have now missed 2 periods and this has never happened before. I've had some brown discharge around the date my period is due, which I usually get but then it just stops as quickly as it started. I have posted this up before but i want more answers. I am 24 and I met my bf and ago 20. At age 21 I moved in with him. We lived together for almost 2 yrs and ended up having our son August 2008. And I was working also. After I moved in with my parents house I had to quit my job to take care of my son and b/c my job was very close to his house and my parents didn’t want that. I have been living with my parents since Dec. 2008 and I hate it. I have been so depressed living here. I have kept in contact with my bf and have been seeing each other often. When I moved to my parents house my parents told me that when my sons dad comes to visit his son I wasn’t allowed to take him outside my dad would take my son outside for my sons dad to see him b/c they wanted me to get over him but until now we love each other so much and really want to be with one another. He is looking for a 2nd job in order to better support me and my son and wants me to go back to him and I do too but I’m just so afraid of my parents getting mad and my familys reputation.two days ago my parents told me to choose either them or my sons dad. Is it ovulation or pregnancy?

I recently had horrible abdominal pains and was diagnosed as having one ovarian cyst on my left ovary. The doctor said she saw lots of follicles in my left ovary and use protection the next couple of days if I don't want to get pregnant. Well the next couple of days; Friday-Monday no protection used with the exception of Sunday and Monday (pull out) I know not real protection. I usually can tell when I'm ovulating or real close because I'm super frisky and I felt that way Monday. Wednesday started having mild cramping, some pain on both pelvic sides. Also very hot and nauseous. The cramping stopped Friday, but occasional pain in lower pelvic, first one side then the other and back pain. I thought possible fertilized egg on it's way to implantation, but took an ovulation test just as a way to early test for pregnancy(if it says ovulating can't be pregnant right?) well ovulation test was negative so it's a waiting game for pregnancy test, period not due until the 18th. �Well I took a pregnancy test today(too soon I know) was negative, took an ovulation test very very faint line which means not ovulating but Friday there was no line...I'm confused...could this mean I could soon be ovulating or ovulated Saturday? or maybe pregnancy as I've read ovulation test sometimes show faint lines for pregnancy...very confused and trying not to stress...didn't realize how much I wanted to be pregnant:/

I have been with my current employer for 10 years. For the last 5 years, I have been the warehouse lead. It is an hourly position and with overtime I make approximately 48,000.00 per year. I also have a four -year degree from Washington State University. My company has just offered me a promotion that I have been waiting three years to be offered: Warehouse Supervisor...it is the next logical step after Lead. It is a salaried position. I was excited until I was told that the salary being offered me was $40,000.00 per year, with potential of a yearly 6% bonus (I've heard that after taxes the bonus equals about $1,500.00). I am being told that there is no negotiation...this is an "entry-level position because you have no supervisory experience." Firstly, I have 5 years of supervisory experience as a lead with this company, and 12 years as a superintendent supervising multiple work crews at a previous company. I submitted an updated resume outlining all of this information when I applied for the in-house position. Since when does a promotion require you to take an $8,000. pay cut? In any case, my question is this: Is it even possible for someone who has worked for a company for 10 years to be offered an "entry-level" position? Isn't that an oxymoron?

Pacific hermit crab (aquatic) dead or laying eggs?

I found some stow away hermit from the Oregon coast and have been keeping them at my house. They are aquatic cold salt water and I have not been able to learn much about them. They are brown with a white dot on each leg and a little blue on their legs. One large one appears dead. He crawled out of his shell and has what looks like black eggs attached to his body. The other large on has the black stuff on him, he is alive but out of his shell. I have been giving them different shells to see which would work but none have yet. Do you feed your kids junk food for treats?

Neither me or my fiancee can bring our selves to give our two kids things like a biscuit or a piece of chocolate as a treat, albeit one is six months old so he doesn't eat solids yet as he's still fed. All of my step daughter (That's what she'll technically be when I marry her mum but I prefer to call her my daughter) friends and family think it's silly she's never eaten chocolate or a burger or drank fizzy pop. We lead pretty much an organic, additive free life. We grow our own vegetables, support local bakeries, farmers and butchers. Are we wrong to not let our kids eat junk food? I was a bridesmaid in an outdoor wedding that got plenty of rain. They had a tent set up, but the ground was so wet, the dance floor pretty much sank into the mud by the end of the day. Our dresses were covered with mud on the bottoms. Someone finally got a pair of scissors so that the bridesmaids could cut their dresses off at the knees and stop dragging around wet, muddy dresses. so i remember watching this movie that was on tv when i was little which means the movie was made before 1997.
